Angela Yvette Gonzalez ("Angie") was born in McAllen, Texas, where she still lives and works as a Dyslexia/Reading teacher. Angie attended the University of Texas - Pan American (now UT-RGV) in Edinburg, where she graduated in 1992, and received a Bachelor in Interdisciplinary Studies in Education with a minor in Art. She has received several awards for her artwork and has displayed her work in local art exhibits. She has also been an elementary school teacher for over 20 years. In 2009, Angela received her master's as a Reading Specialist and now works as a Dyslexia teacher. Her hobby is to write and illustrate children's books. She enjoys incorporating her love of teaching and art in her books for young readers. Ms. Angela Y. Gonzalez got certified as a CALT ( Certified Academic Language Therapist) in October 2020, to help students who have difficulty acquiring the basic language skills necessary to read, write and spell. She is now applying for her license to become an LDT ( Licensed Dyslexia Therapist ).
